Nope it’s not. I’ve checked his paystub and he gets 30% taken out for taxes and about 10% for insurance, ss and 401k 🤦🏽♀️ he works 14 hours a day same as my mom. It’s heartbreaking

If he's getting THIRTY percent taken out for taxes that means he makes at least 100k. If he is renting and doesn't have a spare $2000 in his pocket, there is some genuinely terrible financial management going on. Alternative explanation: you made at least some of this up. Here are the tax brackets:

This isn’t adding up. If he’s 65, he’s Medicare eligible and should be on it with a gap policy. If he’s paying 30% in taxes he’s in high income bracket and should be able to swing a $2,000 deductible without having to live paycheck to paycheck.

How much is he making? The IRS tax rates are 32% if you make $180k+ per year, 24% if you make $95k+ per year. Sounds like he makes a lot or the math ain’t mathing…

How much is his Roth IRA growing.....any individual life time investments...or just spent everything he ever made. Poor financial planning eventually catches up. It's not the governments job to provide everything. Stop blaming successful people who earned their fortune for your inablity to do the same. Earn, save invest...!
