Artists: has this ever happened to you? a new guest was at my house for a holiday party and asked to see my art which is hanging throughout my house. He’s being gracious and complimenting my work as my head steadily swells and then he gets all excited and approaches another artist’s painting I have on the wall and asks, “did you paint this too?” in a voice that sounds like he’s just seen the Mona Lisa and I say, “no…I didn’t paint that one” 😞 😂😂

I never meant it as an insult but always as a compliment because I liked said piece, whether it was theirs or not. I have always had this happen to me before. Or even have had my art mistaken for others. I try not to take it as an insult to my work but more of an appreciation for others who appreciate art. In the end I probably have the piece displayed because I couldn’t agree more myself anyways. 🫶
