Apologies to whoever this offends, but it actually does seem unfortunate that Canada and Mexico don't integrate closer with the US economically. Running their own currencies and keeping trade barriers holds them back. Canada is only realizing about half the potential benefit, and Mexico about 20%. Coordinating security, policy, and trade is a $10T opportunity. It's wasted on the illusion of independence. Imagine a California or Texas with different currency and trade barriers.

In my opinion they lost a lot of economic potential leaving the EU, and their currency will increasing be a problem, not an opportunity. North America is already the most prosperous continent, and we should really pursue the opportunities in front of us.
