The Psych Professionals Why is this still on your website? This isn't an appropriate way for you to talk about autism as psychologists.

I love how they try to tell us when our lives are "more enjoyable" and when they aren't.

I feel like it's actually right? Like I have autism but I had treatment in the form of therapy (to teach me how to cope with the world) and social skills building. It's not like they're saying to give us medicine, that'd be incorrect. I feel like you can't seperate autism from the person, if I wasn't autistic then who would I be? But we can and do need extra support to help us live a life that isn't inhibited by a world that wasn't built for us.

Sounds like they do ABA - I hope someday this traumatizing, ableist form of therapy no longer exists. It's just so bad.

CBT isn't bad to be honest but it's not meant to be used for like Autism. And I suspect they are using the words cognitive and behavior therapy to mean ABA therapy (which is just child abuse acting like therapy) Since they are spelling it it out and not just saying CBT.
