It is possible to believe that a whole bunch of people are going to lose their jobs because of the current wave of AI-led automation and know that this is really painful… And also point out that this has happened over and over again for the last 150 years and worked out better than the alternative. The challenge is balancing the short-term pain with the long-term benefit (especially in countries with no safety net)
