Bureaucracy has reached the ‘jump the shark’ stage. My wife kept her last name but we are legally married. We got an unexpected refund check from the irs made out to ‘her name AND my name’. We aren’t allowed to deposit it into either of our separate accounts and have to open a joint account just to deposit and transfer into an existing one. wasteful

2 小時內	dana danagrom	That’s not true. You could cash it and deposit the cash. That is what the endorsement line is for. That is why they say not to sign the back of checks until you are at the bank!
2 小時內	Caroline Carrigan carcarrigan	You can set it up with the bank to co-sign. Had the same prob. And another relative kept sending me checks with my ‘married’ name, which I never used. Just get all the AKAs on record.
