I'm going to have to disagree with this one. In some sleepier towns this may apply, but in many denser locations taxes and insurance have gone up double digits per year. Taxes are tied to property values unfortunately, and values on properties have risen tremendously over the last 10 years. Insurance premiums in many markets have doubled in almost 1 years. Rent increases largely do not outpace these increases.

False. Most homeowners get a homestead exemption that lowers their property taxes. Most landlords don’t on the properties they don’t live in.
