Honestly we are in an overpopulation crisis and every single humane society and rescue is over capacity. As in at 600% capacity.

Sorry to hear this, it’s a shame but not surprising .. :/ besides online and local nextdoor and Facebook groups, sometimes rescues that handle other animals might have connections for you that could help with a dog. A small animal rescue for example or even a livestock rescue may still be able to help or know someone that can. Most dog rescues won’t accept a dog from an owner or finder directly, but try a few anyway. Also ask local vet clinics if anyone can foster or if you can post a flyer.
