OP didn't say Lofton was better, did they? They are making a valid point. Ichiro's numbers are better, but they were still comparable hitters in most categories. If Ichiro is a first ballot HoFer, then what happened to Lofton was a horrible injustice. A similar case can be made about Bobby Abreu, who was arguably a better hitter than Ichiro. Abreu is still in the ballot, but he's unlikely to get the votes to get in via the BBWA.

Awards are subjective. Oh, and Lofton has 300 more BB in 500 fewer games.

Yea, this really doesn’t add any context. A player could have the exact same career as ichiro and have half of the accolades if there’s other players at his position in the league that just as good or slightly better. That the point of comparing the stats.

Ichiro is only a HOF because of the hit milestone. Other than that, dude was second most overrated player ever behind Ohtani.

Not to mention that if Lofton had played the number of years it would take to get all those hits, it’s fair to speculate his average, obp and obps ALL would have suffered, making Ichiro all that more impressive.
