California politicians have a lot inves ted in renewable energy that’s why Newsoms pushing it. I actually do know how much a litre of gas cost in Europe I lived there (Italy) for four years. If the government wants us to have a EV they should give us one or make them affordable so every American can afford one.

When taxes make up $1.57 (soon to be well over $2) of the $3.80 gallon of gas I put in my car, that’s not “hurting a little”. That is theft. That is 41%. It is the highest in the nation. And these taxes are supposed to be fixing the roads…. Lol! But yeah, keep licking those boots.

If we really want to go towards all clean energy, we’d be working double time to build nuclear power plants. But nobody in California, even the most adamant anti fossil fuel advocate, is willing to cross into that territory.

California has been using punitive taxation to alter behavior for a very longtime. This cavalier approach has not lead our state into a higher state of consciousness. In fact it has shown time and again its policies have failed. Taxing gas at such a burdensome rate has lead to policy like allowing state law to supersede county and city ordinances. Such as the new building of just about any multi unit housing project if it gets an “affordable housing “ label attached to it.

With the boom in AI, they’d need more electricity to power the machines. You’re gonna rely on sun and wind as the source of power for your machine when China is going to used fossil fuel to produce all their electricity??? Good luck.
