Rescued each other 8 years ago. He's 15 and I'm 63.

My BFF for 8 years and counting. Did a genetic test, 100% GSD. To anyone saying you can’t get a purebred dog in rescue, she came to me at a year and a half old, has never had an accident in the house, never needed to be kenneled (but is trained and tolerates it if needed), never chewed anything, gotten into things she shouldn’t, or hurt anyone. She’s a certified canine good citizen and retired therapy dog. Rescue dogs are good dogs in bad situations.

I wish people understood that if they are set on getting a purebred dog, there is a breed specific rescue for everything. Here’s my Great Pyrenees rescue dude.

Fostering this cutie! She has been in shelters for 4 out of her 6 years. Knows commands extremely well. Working on building confidence and showering with love.

My rescue boo, CASSU (approx 7 yo) I adopted during lockdown after my 11 yo Chi passed. 4th rescue Chihuahua who was clearly abused in his prior life. ❤️‍🩹My shadow and love of my existence!

None of our dogs are from breeders. The one on the left we rescued from a shelter in 2021 after she had been dumped there not once, but twice. Middle dog I got when I was 14, a vet was fostering him after he was left at her house as a baby, he’ll be 13 in February. Third dog passed away in July at 13 years old, she was my husbands dog, he rescued her as a puppy. I’m a vet nurse working at a low cost vet clinic that also works alongside the animal shelters, it’s hard not to bring them all home 🥺
