I love Christmas. But once it’s over, all I see when I look at the decorations is a big chore that I’m putting off. Having it done before New Year’s Eve gives me a feeling of a fresh, clean start without that big cleanup day still looming.

I can’t speak for others, but mine have been up since early November and I’m tired of them. I put them up early because I don’t like last-minute stress. I like to get the decorations out of the way so that I can focus on the shopping wrapping and baking.

Serious question. Why are they still up? Christmas is over.

I love Christmas and keeping the decorations up when Christmas is over makes me sad since all the fun is done and I need to wait another year lol. Also, I like to be all cleaned up and fresh by New Year’s.

We put everything away on New Year’s Eve. Then we go into the new year with a clean house and everything put away

It’s a big job. It took me 2 days to do and I just feel better going back to work and starting the New Year with that task done.

It seems mostly american thing, as you all start decorating for Christmas way too early. It’s like a race, who will post their ornaments first to social media. All these comments scream - it’s not about Christmas, but all the kitchs sourrounding it. You hype yourself to the brink of overstimulation and actually do not enjoy anything anymore, because it becomes such a chore. Of course you have no christmas feeling. Instant gratification, noone is ready to wait a bit.

Because I don’t want to wait until the night before I go back to work…..and also, Christmas Day is over.

My first time putting up decorations in our home lol and I even put up more Christmas decorations afta Christmas🤣 I am gona be sad to take it down but am putting everything away for Christmas next yr. I believe Ill take it down 1/1 lol

I took mine down when my son went back home. While cleaning his old bedroom , I took down the decorations too. He’s gone so Christmas is over for me.
