Did you know, visitors to Australia ranked it number two in the world, just behind France and above Italy for the best food experiences on the planet? I totally agree. (Please don't bother arguing the point if you've not been to Australia in the last 15 or so years (or at all!)

Better than Italy… hmm. More varied perhaps, we have the full range from simple grills to elaborate nonsense, cuisine from every continent and many regions, good quality grass fed meat and fresh seafood…great coffee, marvellous fruit. Maybe true.

You can get better Vietnamese and Italian in Melbourne than in Vietnam and parts of Italy and better Chinese than China. Not exaggerating.

Out of 220+ recognised countries in the world, we have food from over 170 of them represented in Australia.🇦🇺 We are truly a lucky country.

Mate, I live here and travel a lot. No, we don’t rank anywhere near the top 20, let alone number 2. Maybe they (the judges) need to eat with the locals when judging rather than looking for food made to match their own countries tastes.

I'm Australian, and this take is ridiculous. Don't bother arguing as I've lived here 42 years
