I have been in weddings, and have been married. I have only had one bride gift our hair and makeup, other than that, everything else was paid for by the bridesmaid. It may be normal to pay for everything where you’re from, but it’s not where I am from. In one particular instance, I officiated a friends wedding, paid for her flights and split the cost of the lodging with the other bridesmaids for her bachelorette, and in return, she ghosted me the day we went to pick out bridesmaid dresses. 🙃
