Growing up in Oregon, I got to the point that I hated the rain. It took moving away to Montana, Alaska and Illinois for jobs before moving home again to make me realize I could not only live with the rain, I should embrace it. My daughter and I love to do rainy day hikes (in Gore-Tex we trust) and I commute by bike now. Getting out in it and defying it has really helped my mindset.
