Lots of great neighborhoods to explore. Don’t let the media discourage you. Try the Marina, Noe & Cole Valley. The waterfront near the Embarcadero is a great walk. Just keep your eyes peeled and have fun!

SF is doing great. Don’t believe the right wing propaganda. Walk along the Embarcadero, have dim sum for lunch at Yank Sing, ride the cable cars, see the street art in Clarion Alley, have a burrito at La Taqueria, have fun! Just don’t leave anything in your car, even in the trunk.

SFSU student here - the school itself can be maddening. Overcrowding, housing issues, poorly run programs. San Jose State excels- check there too, it close to SF to visit but a better school experience and quality of life. San Jose is a great city and close to everything

if, in addition to the beautiful san francisco (good 60% of the city) you stroll on 6th and mission, you will see what fox news is getting ratings for. it defies belief, yet there it is. treat yourself to our world class artisanal bakeries.

I was there with family early December…stayed near union square…we’re from LA and noticed that the homeless problem was more or less nonexistent. As somebody stated obviously every large city has issues but we had an amazing time, walked everywhere, had perfect weather.

there is a long path along the Bay in the Marina district: goes through the presidio, next to the new park Tunnel tops, ends at the base of the Golden gate bridge :: beautiful way to see that area. we used E-bikes last time we were there ( Lyft has them all over the city, can use their app) you can walk across the bridge too ( i don’t recommend biking it, too windy) and of course weather affects this experience. Enjoy!

Of course it’s not like people say. There isn’t much exciting near SF state, lots of restaurants off 19th though as you get through the alphabet cross streets. West portal is a nice neighborhood nearby. Japan town is nice but not exactly close to SF state. Visit gg park and also the embarcadero area 

It’s mostly propaganda. tenderloin and pockets of SOMA/Mission have a lot of sadness. Divide between haves and have nots is conspicuous. That’s been true for decades. But it’s a great city beautiful neighborhoods, excellent food, wonderful humans. Less dangerous than most mid size U.S. cities. Like Portland, NYC, etc, it’s a right-wing punching bag and propaganda vehicle based on inflammatory and selective info/disinfo. Don’t leave anything in your car. But that’s been true since the 1970s.
