This is most absolutely completely correct. See also: if I ever hear you unironically say, “modern planes fly themselves. The pilots are just glorified button pushers,” that is how I instantly know you have zero actual aviation knowledge whatsoever. It’s a bit like saying “modern surgeons just let the robots do all the cutting.”

I don't have my license, but I've basically grown up around planes, my grandfather is a private pilot and I've extensively studied the mechanisms of flight at home. I understand the bare basics of landing, by no means would it be perfect, and some people would probably get hurt or whiplash. But it's better than dead.
