40 hours a week of completely entry level “unskilled labor” should pay well enough to live off and everything else should go up from there. We’ve decided 40 hours is “full time” and there is a base level of food and shelter all people need to live, 40 hours of minimum wage should cover that. Minimum wage should be paying for nothing but your time just to be there, and any other labor or skills on top of that should be fairly compensated beyond that.
