The great thing about watercolour is that it's portable, it's an easy on the go medium, I wish the same could be said for acrylic. Does anyone travel with acrylic or oils? If so, what's your trick? ArtistsOnThreads

For both oils and acrylics, I pack tubes that are small, I put them in a see through plastic bag and then in a stiff tupperware type of container and add a materials sheet for the TSA. I try to stick to somewhat limited pallettes. For oils I use water soluable types when I am travelling. I take panel carriers and canvas panels to paint on mostly. But if I can take a checked bag. I check my clothes and shoes and carry on canvases so I can paint even more. I have a tripod easels and a pochade box.

I have tried plein air with Acrylic but find it dries too fast. Gouache is a compromise when I don't want watercolour. I have to work a lot smaller. Many of my peers are now using gorilla style boxes for oils - I think I will join them later in the year.
