The next time someone tells you that buying organic produce is a waste of money because fruits and vegetables are organic by the definition taught solely in chemistry classes, remind them that "organic" is a polysemic (having multiple different definitions) term which depends upon the context it is used in. With farming practices, the definition of organic is not the same as the one taught in chemistry/organic chemistry.
