Saying art is pain is like some art myth going around. If you think critically you'll see it's unprecise advice anyway and doesn't make that much sense. How do you even define pain? Pain while creating? Creating super deep, maybe depressing pictures? Does your reason to create art have to be a painful one? But of course there will be days where creating art frustrates you, art can be a way of coping etc.
