Maybe. But, given regional news bubbles, how many incidents occur that don't make the mainstream? Not a conspiracy take, just an acknowledgment that the algorithm doesn't paint a full picture sometimes.

Major events are extremely rare but get a lot of media coverage but not a lot of media follow up. After official findings regulators and professionals across the industry will make changes for the industry based on the findings if applicable, which is why aviation is safer now than it has ever been, but changes and improvements don’t make the headlines.
