Whenever a transgender (particularly binary transsexual) person describes their lived experiences/personal context, there's bound to be someone to push back, "Don't define your identity by suffering." As if the 1st person's to respond, "My apologies. I'll only mention the bright, sparkly moments of my life that had nothing to do with my dysphoric experience of being trans." People are going to define their identities by their experiences, and sometimes, some of those experiences are traumatic.
