Please don't let someone steal.your sunshine.When I was young I usually got a doll from Santa and clothes & book from mum,nail.polish & makeup when i got older, I was always so happy and grateful for my gifts.This year I didn't know if I was going to get any gifts so I ordered a $20 dress for myself & received it Christmas eve ,it was just nice to wear something new.

Who has time to look at influencer Christmases? Too busy working, shopping, trying to make my house look like we haven't been burgled already, wrap what presents I've bought (presuming I can remember where I've hidden the stuff I've bought in the sales throughout the year.) On another note, she's robbed her children of the joy of unwrapping each present and seeing what's under that paper, she might as well have just let them loose in Smyth's Toys.

Influencers aren't real, nor are they actually happy.

I saw an influencer video like that, a room piled to the ceiling with presents. Just nauseating. Braggy, vulgar and totally unnecessary. Same as the woman boasting she’d bought her 6-year-old a new iPhone, iPad and MacBook. Carry on doing it your way, I’m sure your kid appreciates you. Your time means more than material things.

I feel bad for the planet when I see those things! I remember one Christmas when I was 15, we were pretty broke but my parents had pulled together a pretty cute stocking and I loved everything in it, my 4 yo cousin was staying and his mum had spent hundreds on his. Afterwards he asked me if there were two Santa's. When I asked him why he said "Because he brought you everything you wanted, all I asked for was Ninja turtle dolls and I didn't get those." 40 years and that's stuck with me.

He[[ no I don't feel bad! I have to wonder just how many of those "things" the child will actually play with regularly. Kids have way too much these days anyway. I'm in western North Carolina where some people lost absolutely everything and just one small gift was appreciated. When will we ever learn that The Best Things In Life Aren't Things??

As long as your kids, your husband and you are happy with your tree and presents that's all that matters. Kids don't remember every single present they got each year they remember being with family, Christmas lunch, playing games, watching films together, they are the real memories. Hand crafted gifts are always more precious in my opinion as someone has taken the time to think about what you like and created it for you. Don’t feel bad. All of the money the parents went into debt for could’ve been given to others who actually need it and that’s on their conscience. Their kids are probably spoiled anyhow. Plus, you are doing a great job and you’re doing your best! Christmas doesn’t have to be extravagant or expensive.
