This is a big one! I’m actually working a whole blog post on this. I recommend booking yourself somewhere two nights before you start to get over jet lag and make sure you have everything. Then, while hiking I recommend ONLY booking one (occasionally two) nights in advance. It’s hard to figure out your pace ahead of time and it sucks being forced into a schedule. This way, you can make changes based on how you feel, the weather, hike with others, etc.
