I’ve been writing Black and interracial romance for 13 years now. I’ve also been an editor in the romance genre for almost as long. I’m stating this to enforce that this is not about how I “feel,” it’s a fact. We, Black romance authors, have worked very hard to create this distinction and maintain it for readers AND ourselves. It’s infuriating to watch yall try to undo that work in real time. It’s also disrespectful to the very authors you claim to want to support!
