$30 is good money for an hours work. They didn’t cook the meal, they waited other tables while waiting mine, the busser cleared the table. What I spent, unless it was exorbitant and there was a large group, is not really relevant, and they are also being paid an hourly wage for the job. If the meal is longer than an hour, then the tip can be increased. If the meal was $400, I should tip the chef, but this person is fairly compensated. So, $30 is a reasonable tip.
