I will be very glad to say goodbye to 2024. I’ve learnt a lot about human nature ; someone with whom a friendship was developing, turned up their nose when they discovered I was from Glasgow, and not Edinburgh, another ‘friend’ arranged a lunch date then didn’t confirm a time or get in touch again, I lost both my parents and the reactions of those around me spoke volumes. As Winston Churchill said : “I no longer listen to what people say, I just watch what they do. Behavior never lies.”
