I don’t know what the back lash was for me to tell you it’s okay 😅

Personally I loved it. I can understand some of the criticisms as it could have done with another round of edits but overall the story is captivating and nonstop entertaining. I’ve read it 8 times this year (because I have so many questions leading up to Onyx Storm) and still not bored.

Honestly there was no noticeable difference in quality to me between FW and IF. The problems that existed in FW did still exist in IF, but if you enjoyed the first you’ll most likely enjoy the second.

What backlash ?

I really liked how she continued to world-build and expand the reader’s understanding of the magic. And there’s an absolutely stunning cameo in it that I cannot say any more about with potentially spoiling something. But it was worth the whole damn book just to get that cameo (and it was esp good in the reg version of the audiobook)

It’s good! It feels a little chaotic but don’t go into it expecting the most perfectly paced and absolute logic proof book and you’ll be fine. What people care about (dramatic storytelling, great characters, plot twists) is all still great, it’s more of an odd editing thing. Would HIGHLY recommend the audiobook too. Seems to help you skim through any typos or errors.

I loved it!! I feel like extremely hyped up new releases are put on a pedestal and if they have even a few flaws people complain, but rarely is a book perfect. I however LOVED IT!

You have to read it before you can get to Onyx Storm. This one will be the book that determines whether I continue or don’t with future books in the series. Book 2 is almost never a literary teiumph (in any series).

I enjoyed the audiobooks! Never even knew this was a thing.
