I haven’t seen many crapping on Nosferatu (which is fine if someone didn’t like it and isn’t making fun of others that did). I’m more questioning the people that are romanticizing Orlok and Ellen. It is a “relationship” filled with grooming, SA, and coercion. It’s not romantic and it’s not love.

How it explores the different emotional layers of the survivor’s experience—the guilt, the shame, the loneliness & isolation, and even the attachment to the abuser as someone who once’s validated the survivor and eased their loneliness. And the journey to regain agency and “redemption” from that guilt as a survivor. And I love that it is portrayed in such a hideous way, because it is a hideous dynamic.
