Unpopular opinion: tipping should be based on percentages.
If i visit your restaurant and have a burger and a coke, the bill amounts to around 20 bucks and I’ll tip the waiter around 5 bucks.
The next night, I make another visit but order a ribeye and a bottle of nice wine. The bill comes to around $100 and I’ll be tipping the same waiter around 25 bucks for providing the same service as the night before.
Why did my choice of order multiply the waiter’s value 5x? Makes no sense to me.
