My 8yo has a crush on Link from Zelda and I said to my husband “ah her first 2D crush”, to which he (chronically offline, not a reader, a jock) responded with a whole lot of confusion. I am now trying to explain to him the allure of Robin Hood (specifically the Disney fox) and he thinks this is some weird exclusive-to-me-only thing. Chat, help a girl out.
