It drives me crazy when I see people say that pumping is not breastfeeding. It is ABSOLUTELY part of the breastfeeding category. Both direct nursing at the breast and pumping to feed baby breastmilk are BREASTFEEDING. Are these two paths different in some capacity? Yes. Direct nursing does provide some additional benefits that pumping may not, but please do not tell mothers who choose to pump that they are not breastfeeding. They absolute are. 19 分鐘內	awarm014	IMO EP is the HARDEST of the three choices (vs formula or regular breastfeeding) and it should be recognized as such!! And it is absolutely a part of breastfeeding! Those that can do it are amazing!

I’m a lactation counselor and when a client tells me that they’re exclusively breastfeeding, when in fact they’re exclusively pumping. It doesn’t allow me to provide them with the tools and knowledge to help them.
2 小時內	Kiana Bachmeier kiana.0.2	I never know how to answer when I'm asked if I'm breastfeeding at appointments. Depends on what you're asking for! Do you need to know if she's on breast milk or formula? Then yes, she's breastfed. Do you need to know if she nurses? Then no. Same with "does she take a bottle?" Like yes she can drink from the bottle, no she doesn't take formula.
