I keep seeing these post about ppl reading the whole Bible in one year. Yall must be just literally reading thru not really understanding what you read cus I’ll be on one scripture for a month. 🤔

I'll be the first to tell you they read it and that's literally it understanding absolutely nothing, applying nothing of what they read to their life. The bible is not a novel it's not meant to just be read it's a book of instruction to live by. The only way to understand the bible is to apply what it commands. Psalms 111:10 "The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise endureth for ever."

There’s a difference between a general familiarity with the entirety of Scripture which can more quickly be done in this format, and studying in depth which can take you a long time on a single passage! I’d say both are important and should be done simultaneously!

It’s impossible to read the Bible in an entire year. I spent 2022 focusing on the ENTIRE Old Testament. I then spent 2023 focusing on the ENTIRE New Testament. It makes no sense how you can read the ENTIRE Bible in one year.

That’s not how this works, there is a blessing for they that read even though they may not understand. See Rev 1:3 You can u understand what you don’t know… so the first step is reading. You can’t wait till u understand all the scripture before u read… u read first and then from there the holyspirit begins to teach you

With no intention to offend you, but I have been a minister for quite some time preached to thousands. I lay my hands on the sick and they recover, I cast out demons and have authority over serpents and scorpions, and I don’t know how many times I’ve read the Bible in total but last year I read it twice by the first three months of the year. It is all about what you prioritize.

Oh mercy, I feel so sorry for many people that I have read your comments. it’s not about just reading to get through it. The Holy Spirit inspires you and quickens you to eat AND live the word of God. When I read God’s word, I can get lost in the revelation HE gives and the next thing I know, I have read 10-12 chapters.I am so sorry that you think it ridiculous to read the whole Bible in a year. I know so many people that live the word of God and read it several times a year.

When I say you have to prioritize, you would be surprised how much of the Bible you can read in just the short time of one movie……How much TV do you watch? How much social media? How much just hanging out? How much prayer? How much fasting? How much wasting time? God tells us that we must redeem the time in Ephesians 5:16 and Colossians 4:5 because the days are evil. God tells us that “My people perish for lack of knowledge in Hosea 4:6. We get knowledge from God’s word ONLY!

There is so much that the body of Christ misses because they simply do not know the truth. So many believers misinterpret the scripture in John 8:32 - “ And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” But the whole scripture context is John 8:31-32 - Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, “If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” We have to ABIDE in HIS WORD not in our world. That’s truth
