1 - we grew up 2 - the systems in these newer vehicles, especially the limited trims, are solid enough with new audio technology.

I've peeped that too. I don't hear slap like I used to. I don't hear convos about 15 kicker L7's no more.

Boys still worry about speakers. Men realized that they don't want to go deaf so they don't care about speakers.

Everything is Bluetooth and the streaming service is low quality. People who listen to CD and vinyl are talking about speakers.

Stock sound systems are getting better + too many head units are integrated with climate control and other car functions. Can’t just swap out a din/2xdin head unit anymore with it looking like garbage and/or losing vehicle controls.

Now ive channeled it to hifi open ear headphones powered by a headphone tube amp connected to a DAC to my CPU. 🔊 🤓 🔊

I’ve never understood the desire to have a huge booming audio setup at home, unless you live in a single family house. Otherwise, it’s just kind of rude to your neighbors. Also, easy to setup soundbars and simple surround systems sound good enough for most people. It’s just not really necessary for a lot of people.

I don’t know anything about car electronics but could it be that modding newer cars is more difficult and expensive than it used to be? I know I could swap out radios and speakers pretty easily on cars growing up but now the dash is all integrated and the idea of knicking it up and making it look bad after modifying doesn’t appeal to me. Cars just seem less customizable for the average person.

Man, I dunno. That obsession started for me after hearing Chronic 2001 on a good system.
