What is a “living wage” and defines “living?” Should a coffee jockey get paid the same as a nurse or teacher?

Nobody has once, that I’ve seen, said they should be paid the same. They said every job should be a living wage. A living wage, as I understand it, typically means: pay for rent, groceries, transportation, and enough to set aside for when you’re no longer able to work. A nurse should absolutely get paid more than someone who doesn’t need any formal training. Doesn’t mean the other person deserves to live in squalor.

If you work 40hours a week you shouldn't be below the poverty line.

You're so close to the point that nurses and teachers aren't paid as they should be.

No. But minimum wage should go up with inflation. Pretty simple.
