I spent my Sr year of high school volunteering for the Carter/ Mondale campaign. I met most of the Carter family and some Kennedys ( RFK Jr is a whole other story) I was lucky enough to meet President and Mrs Carter twice. They were lovely and acted as if I were the most important person they met that day. I don’t really remember anything they said, but that they made a nervous 17 yr old feel special. They will be missed.
