If you borrowed $30,000 for your car, paid $300/month for 15 years, and then still owed $25,000, I’d agree you should get it forgiven as well. But that’s not how car loans work. It IS however, how student loans work.

All those 5 year plus degrees and Masters Degrees in fields that historically pay very little, seems obvious that debt default would be the ultimate outcome. Why should people who never had the means or option for that level and expense of education pay now?

99% of these student loan payoffs are for kids who went to school to party and have no jobs. If they have a job in the field they went to school for their loans are prob already paid off. They are responsible people.
