You kind of forget about the fact you've created them after a while. Then it smacks you suddenly when they articulate a full, intelligent response to something in a way you never could have imagined. Suddenly it's like, "I cannot believe you exist because I exist and made a choice, but also that you are more intelligent than I could ever be." The pride you feel, it's overwhelming.
