Growing up my dad forced so much masculinity on me that I say “I’m the son he never had”. He pulled me out of school to do construction work with him, dressed me in his oversized T-shirts, tried to stop me from trying out for (& making) a cheer team, had me listening to metal & rock, paid for my first tattoo, and signed my waiver to join the Army at 17 bc he wanted to join when younger but criminal record so lived vicariously through me. He constantly insulted anything “girly” and called (1/5)
