The point is that no matter where we're at in our careers, whether it's just starting out or looking to shoot the cover of Vanity Fair, we need to constantly be producing work for our portfolio. Clients aren't going to pay us to do the work that will help us grow creativeily and professionally so it's up to us to create the work that we need. I'm not saying that we should work for free for clients who can and should pay us money. Not every opportunity comes with money attached however. 3/4
