Thats a 2 way street.. the new generation is full of entitlement thinking they dont need us and are already way better, just because they have 20 followers. So let them fall on their face to get that much needed reality check. Then we can talk

Idk where this is coming from, I'm always sharing advice. Tbh what I notice on Threads is a lot of ego from amateur djs thinking they know better than those who've earned their stripes.

I mean learn how to study people , then you got YouTube , ( i get it sometimes you want a in person hands on approach) so see if they got mixes online and study that.

I was coached by another DJ when I first came out he was giving me tips and advice on what you do and don’t do at gigs. It really helped and he saw I was serious about djing. Every chance I get I thank him for it. I got other DJs looking up to me now and I’ve coached them as well.

What bullying are you talking about? This is new to me

I think (for the most part) the bullying is the other way around. And this is not just in this dj thing of hours. The younger generation has NO respect for the old school. They’ve become the very cocky, know-it-all generation that’s so focused on what’s “relevant”, that they’ve become dismissive of anything and anyone that’s at least a decade their senior, or more. This was so evident in last year’s b.s. “Hip Hop 50th” anniversary. The newbies completely forgot about the veterans in 2024. Sad

Erhm, I'm about as old a dirt. Never bullied. Never been "gatekeeping". Always pushed the next gen. Could you provide examples of this thing or behaviour you have experienced in others?
