That doesn't prove Reagan didn't interfere in hostage negotiations. It just proves it wasn't the only reason Carter lost.

I wouldn't suggest that. I will however insist that Jimmy Carter was a wonderful human being, who spent nearly every day in service to others. He was kind, and generous, and if more people took his example, the world would be a better place. Reagan was responsible for a CIA that trafficked cocaine, and sold weapons to Iran, so he could illegally fund a war in central America. He slowed AIDS research, and ignored the deaths of 90,000 Americans, rather than recognize the humanity of gay men.

the economy was suffering from high inflation, high oil prices and his decision to try to reduce government spending at the same time. Fiscally sound but political suicide. The president is not king and he had very little control over a lot of those problems. People rarely take nuanced decisions about the presidency, so Reagan’s folksy simplistic offering was seductive. Reagan grew the bulging budget deficit, slashed taxes for the rich, fought unions paving for today.

Having personally met one of the hostages held for 444 days, Kevin Hermening will tell you exactly opposite. That Carter was not a good negotiator and horrible on foreign policy.

Also more importantly this is a dick move posting about in his death. He was a genuinely good human and cared about the American people. Probably why he wasn't one of our better presidents, he clearly had a good heart and soul. That matters more
