Hi! Goodreads can be really easy because of that feature, but I know a lot of Bookstagrammers (myself included) try and avoid Amazon (which owns goodreads) because of how they use predatory pricing to eliminate local bookstores as competition.

A lot of us don’t use Amazon and/or we care about other things m over syncing with Kindle. I actually turned my Kindle sync off years ago because I was pissed Goodreads was automatically tracking random books. I didn’t know that was such a popular feature lol. I prefer Storygraph’s challenges features, their tracking/graphing system, how easy it is the fix a book’s start/finish date, their review system. Just different priorities.

I don’t get it. Like what bookstores am I supposed to choose over Amazon? The closest one is 3 hours away.

I personally love using StoryGraph because of they allow partial stars, the tags, and all of the charts.

They don’t have an option to DNF a book and they don’t have half stars in ratings.

I don’t hate GR. I use it alongside SG. But I like that SG has half stars, I like their challenges, and I really enjoy all the stats. So it has features GR doesn’t. But I’m using both.

I personally love Goodreads. I was baffled a year or so ago when I learned people despise it.

There's always something to dislike or cancel. I tend to just do what I like and ignore people's opinions or what they think everyone else should do or not do, nobody can be that perfect
