The contrarian in me wonders if we as artists are too consumed with authenticity at times to just make a dollar like anyone else. Every podcast I listen to has ads, every larger channel has ads, etc. Unless a brand is asking for a personal recommendation specifically, I’ve been questioning why I shouldn’t just take some ads to fund more projects? (FWIW I’ve mostly been on this same train as well, not taking ad spots unless I’m actually interested in a product)

13 分鐘內	Roman Fox snapsbyfox	I only do ads for products I already use myself or have the desire to use / own. This applies to experiences as well. That way I know I’ve been honest with myself and with my audience. Back in early 2022 I did an ad for a generic Chinese phone company and while the pay was astronomical at the time, the whole experience felt wrong. After that I vowed to only deal with brands id actually use myself. As it stands I say no to around 95% of “opportunities”
