There was an experiment where a person stopped a pedestrian to ask for directions and in the middle of the conversation a guy holding a door interrupted and walked between them and the person asking for directions was replaced by another, less than half noticed. This would seem to suggest that Kant was right, that we don’t see reality as much as our judgements about reality, the assumption of talking to the same person made it appear as such.
