I’m a sitter for Trusted Houseitters (on a four week sit in Geneva right now!) and have a referral link I’d be happy to share with you if you’re interested! The trade off is because it’s basically a barter, if you’re not in a desirable location, it might be hard to find a sitter. You’ll also often need to plan in advance. Also, I’m so sorry for what happened to your dog; it’s shameful.

We have three different sets of friends/family who use Trusted Housesitters for their homes with pets (not all housesitters are looking for pets) and all three RAVED about the entire experience and have now used the service multiple times. We happen to have a fantastic dog sitter, but we keep Trusted Housesitter in our “back pocket” so to speak.

I did have one really bad experience with a sitter from Trusted, but two really fantastic sitters who were great with my animals. It is sooooo important to leave honest reviews, even if it seems like you're being mean - it could mean saving the life of someone's pet.
