Your dog is essentially a living toy, a child is not. Of course you shouldnt let your animal be around humans unsupervised, dogs dont scream, and what consequence do you impose on your animal for breaking things? Dog people are the worst people

My kid has never attacked me and mauled my hand before for reaching for something too quickly. My kid has never lunged and growled at a stranger. My kid has never bit the ankle of a person walking by us outside for no reason. Don’t even get started on bad parents vs bad dog owners bc the latter gets people seriously injured. Bad parents just make annoying kids.

Ugh most of these people need to grow up. Just because you have a child doesn't mean that people can't enjoy having a pet because it's easier or cheaper than having a child. At the end of the day people are happy and it's no one's place to put people down for what choices they make. Whether you want to commit to a child for the rest of your life or simply want to own a pet for the rest of their life is up to you. Stop being thinking parenting means you're entitled to be happier than others.

But you leave them home alone unsupervised at some point, right? Because you shouldn't do that until they're like.. 14 years old.
