There is no such thing as a “kid who fills soda orders.” As a young adult I knew tons of fast food workers. If you worked on the drive thru you were also responsible for washing all the dishes, cleaning the whole dining room, cleaning the bathrooms, AND filling soda orders all while taking nonstop orders. It was way harder than my retail job, and significantly harder than any of the “grown up jobs” I’ve had since then. People who insist otherwise have no actual knowledge on the subject.

I had to tend to the fries, and restock the grill station, take the orders, and put away any deliveries we received, and dress the burgers, and blend the shakes. On top of taking food orders. I’ve had soda thrown in my face, been called the most awful names. And was expected to sit there and take it.

一小時內	Sarah Goodwin smalltownsinger	These people think that only “hard” jobs deserve a living wage, and that only jobs that require specialized training/knowledge are “hard”. They don’t seem to get that EVERY job requires training and specialized knowledge that not everybody has. They just view jobs that “anyone can do” as “easy” because capitalism has brainwashed them into believing the labor of others has to be devalued in order for theirs to be valued appropriately. Capitalism relies on mass acceptance of worker exploitation.
