Today, NYE, marks one year since I arrived in New Orleans. I got here at 9pm with $208, three bags and a phone with no service. I spent my first night here traveling between the train station and circle k. I spent 21 days in a shelter, lived in hotels and hostels, worked in an oyster restaurant during Carnival, survived the summer and as of December 18th, I finally have a permanent address. I'm ready to see what's next 😊
